According to Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter this weekend, Apple is “evaluating” the idea of re-releasing an Apple-branded TV.
Gurman says this will happen after Apple releases its future smart display products, so it's likely a couple of years away. Apple is expected to release a cheaper smart display, which many are calling the “HomePad,” early next year.
After that, we’re expecting a pricier product with a larger display and a robotic arm.
However, Gurman says that “if the first device fails,” referring to smart displays, Apple “may have to rethink its smart home ambitions again,” meaning there’s a good chance this Apple-branded TV rumor never comes to fruition.

We have to remember that this is… a very, very lean news week… looking forward to the December 18.2 release… and Gurman MUST… get page views… to get advertising revenue…
Do we remember the “home robot”?

Personally, I don’t see it happening. Apple TV boxes are making enough of a difference in the market, but perhaps Apple could make a difference in the high-end TV market, as niche as that may be.
On the other hand, Apple probably really wants to push the idea of customers using the Apple Vision Pro as a home theater system, which is at odds with this.
I guess we’ll see.
