DOJ monopoly on the iPhone against Apple is moving forward

Julie Clover

Apple failed in an attempt to get an antitrust lawsuit, which, according to Reuters, filed the US Department of Justice against him. District Judge Julien Nils, who is watching this case, today rejected Apple's application for dismissal. The complaint DOJ could not demonstrate anti -competitive behavior, harm to consumers, or that Apple has a monopoly on the US smartphone market. It is unusual that the case will not be rejected, because when applying for dismissal, there are restrictions on the information that can be provided, and cases often go in favor of the plaintiff. Apple claims that the Ministry of Justice is trying to force him to spend money on enriching his competitors, and that he is not a monopolist because he is faced with competition from companies such as Samsung and Google. After that, there will be a total decision with additional arguments and, finally, the trial. The case is unlikely to go to court until 2028 or even later.
