'Croissant' App for Cross-Posting to Threads, Bluesky, and Mastodon Coming to Mac and iPad

Joe Rossignol

Millions of people have signed up for Threads and Bluesky in the last few weeks. With those platforms and Mastodon, there are now three prominent alternatives to X, but that means there are more social media communities to join than ever before. Posting to all three platforms can be a chore, but luckily there’s an app for that.

Croissant is a well-designed iPhone app that lets you cross-post to Threads, Bluesky, and Mastodon all at once, with support for images, hashtags, and tagging other accounts with the correct handle for each platform. This convenience comes at a price, as you'll need to pay $2.99 per month, $19.99 per year, or a one-time fee of $59.99 to unlock the app's core feature of posting to multiple accounts.

The app's developers, Aaron Vegh and Ben McCarthy, are currently working on expanding the app to Mac and iPad. In the meantime, the iPhone Mirroring feature on macOS Sequoia is a decent solution for using the iPhone app on the Mac.

Croissant doesn't support posting to X, but it's a useful tool for those switching from the site formerly known as Twitter.
