It's been a busy week of AI announcements for the Mac. Apple doesn't have any new AI-enabled Macs today, but instead we get a dedicated Mac app from one of the biggest players in AI. Claude is now available in Anthropic's Mac app.
Claude macOS app joins existing iOS app
It's been a particularly big week for the Mac and AI. The new macOS Sequoia update came out with the first Apple Intelligence features, then Apple released the first three M4 Macs with powerful AI-ready chips, and yesterday ChatGPT added an advanced voice control feature to its Mac app.
Claude is now available in a dedicated Mac app. You can even get it for Windows.
The news was announced by Anthropic in X.
The Claude app is marked as beta, but anyone can download and use it. Whether you have a free or paid Claude plan, the app is available now.
The Claude app for macOS gives you easy access to Anthropic's AI assistant and its latest flagship model, the Claude 3.5 Sonnet.
As someone who religiously closes browser tabs, I'm always happy to see another web service offer a standalone app.
Anthropic already made an iOS app for Claude available, but it's great to see the Mac benefiting from a standalone app, too.
Are you excited about the standalone Claude app for Mac? How does the app work for you? Let us know in the comments.
