Blackmagic today announced that its URSA Cine Immersive camera is now available for pre-order, with shipping expected to begin in late Q1 2025. Blackmagic says it is the world's first commercial camera system designed for 3D content capture for Vision Pro.
The URSA Cine Immersive camera was first unveiled in June, but was not available for purchase until now. Blackmagic is asking $30,000 for the unit, and it’s available for pre-order on the Blackmagic website.
The camera features a custom stereoscopic 3D lens system with two 8K sensors and is capable of capturing a 180-degree field of view with spatial audio support at up to 90 frames per second. Captured content has a resolution of 8160 x 7200 per eye, as well as 16 stops of dynamic range for detail and color accuracy in every frame.
Two 5-inch HDR touchscreens are included, as well as an external color LCD status screen. There are multiple connectivity options, including 12G-SDI output, 10G Ethernet, USB-C and XLR audio ports, plus an 8-pin Lemo power connector.
The kit includes an 8TB Blackmagic Media Module that can store around two hours of 8K stereoscopic video recorded in Blackmagic RAW, and also supports Cloud Store for fast media upload and syncing.
