Apple's Stocks app gets a rare update in iOS 18.2 with one key feature

iOS 18.2 is coming any day now, bringing a huge update for iPhone users. The update focuses on the second wave of Apple Intelligence features, but it also brings a nice improvement to one of Apple’s least updated apps: Stocks.

New Pre-Market Trading Info Comes to Stocks in iOS 18.2

The Stocks app typically doesn’t get a lot of attention from Apple. After years of little change, Apple introduced several major updates in iOS 13, such as Apple News integration and a design refresh. There have been a few small improvements since then, but overall the app has remained largely untouched.

In iOS 18.2, while Apple is still leaving Stocks largely as is, there is one welcome update that will help users better track pre-market trading.

From the iOS 18.2 release notes:

Pre-market quotes in Stocks let you track NASDAQ and NYSE tickers before the market opens.

It's not a huge feature, but when it comes to an app as rarely changing as Stocks, any love from Apple is worth it.

For users who primarily check the Stocks app during regular trading hours, this addition won't make a big impact. But if you’re an early bird who always wants to stay on top of the latest news, Apple’s Stocks app can now give you that.
