Apple may soon launch an annual “Back to School” promotion for university students in the US and Canada based on social media ads.
On Instagram, Apple is promoting Mac computers to college and university students. The ad in question features a “Back to School” image with the following text: “Buy a Mac for university or college and save on education. Plus receive a gift card worth up to $200.” The ad was screenshotted by a Canadian user, and this price suggests we'll see the same $150 discount Apple provided last year in the United States.
Clicking on the ad redirects to the Education Web Apple website, but there is no mention of a back-to-school sale yet. Last year's Back to School Sale began on Tuesday, June 4, but Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said in his latest Power On newsletter that the 2024 sale won't start until later this month.
Apple's Back to School Sale to School provides students with a free Apple gift card when purchasing a Mac or iPad. Last year, Apple offered US students up to $150 off a Mac and up to $100 off an iPad.
