Apple TV+ has really hit its stride this year, and the year-end awards are starting to recognize it. One prestigious body just named the hit Apple TV+ comedy one of the 10 best TV shows of the year.

The American Film Institute annually releases a list of the 10 best movies and 10 best TV shows of the year.
This year's honored TV show list includes Downsizing.

This isn’t the first time AFI has recognized an Apple TV+ series in its year-end nominations. The Morning Show made the list in 2023, Pachinko and Severance made the list in 2022, and Ted Lasso took home the honor in 2021.
Why You Should Watch Shrinking
Shrinking is the brainchild of Bill Lawrence, one of the co-creators of Apple TV+’s most successful series, Ted Lasso. Lawrence also co-created the summer hilarious series Bad Monkey.
Shrinking is currently streaming its second season, which is just as strong as the first, thanks to its excellent cast.
The show has been a consistent topper on the Apple TV+ charts, but if you haven’t watched it yet, here’s a quick summary from Apple of what to expect:
Shrinking follows a grieving therapist who begins breaking the rules and telling his clients what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, turbulent changes in people’s lives… including his own.
Harrison Ford’s comedic performance is one of my favorite parts of the show, but the entire cast is great—like a powerful Ted Lasso ensemble.
