Apple releases iOS 18.1 beta 7 ahead of public launch; more details

Update: New public betas are also now available for iOS 18.1, tvOS 18.1, and iPadOS 18.1.

iOS 18.1 will be released to everyone in just two weeks. In the meantime, beta testing continues. iOS 18.1 beta 7 is now available to developer beta testers, just a week after the release of beta 5.

iOS 18.1 beta 7 has build number 22B5075a. The update is currently only available to developer beta testers, with a public beta expected to launch later this week. iOS 18.1 is supported on all iPhones that are compatible with iOS 18, but Apple Intelligence features are limited to the following devices:

  • iPhone 15 Pro
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • iPhone 16
  • iPhone 16 Plus
  • iPhone 16 Pro
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max

iOS 18.1 introduces the initial batch of Apple Intelligence features, including Writing Tools for rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing text. Siri has been completely redesigned and now includes the ability to type your requests. The Mail app gets new features like message summaries, sorting by priority, and Smart Reply.

Other updates include a new Focus mode called Reduce Interruptions, a new Clean Up feature in Photos, Notification Summaries, and more. For more details on what’s new in iOS 18.1, check out my dedicated guide. According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to release iOS 18.1 on October 28.

  • iPadOS 18.1 beta 7
  • visionOS 2.1 beta 5
  • tvOS 18.1 beta 5
  • watchOS 11.1 beta 5
