Apple releases first public beta of macOS 14.4

By Julie Clover

Apple today released the first beta version of the upcoming macOS Sonoma 14.4 update to public beta testers, allowing non-developers to test the software before launch. The public beta will be released the day after Apple released the developer beta.

Beta testers can register in the Software Update section of the System Settings app . In the Beta Updates section, simply enable the Sonoma public beta. Please note that you must register on the Apple beta website to participate.

‌macOS Sonoma‌ Version 14.4 introduces some of the iOS 17.4 beta features, such as new emoji symbols. We don't know what Mac-specific features are included, but nothing new was revealed in the developer beta.
