Apple notifies winners of 2024 Swift Student Challenge; gives them AirPods Max

As reported Tuesday, Apple today notified the winners of the 2024 Swift Student Challenge. For those unfamiliar, the competition encourages developers to demonstrate their programming skills by creating game projects. This year, some winners will attend WWDC 2024 in person at Apple Park.

Esther Hare, Senior Director of Developer Marketing at Apple, congratulated the winners in a post on X. &#8220 “We are so inspired by the determination and enthusiasm of all the students who had the courage to present their work. A HUGE congratulations to all 350 winners and our first group of 50 outstanding winners” said the leader.

350 winners will receive an official Apple certificate, a one-year subscription to the Apple Developer Program, a voucher to take the Apple Developer Program certification exam, and AirPods Max. For the first time, Apple also selected 50 “outstanding winners.” who will enjoy an “extraordinary three-day experience” at Apple Park in June.

Previously, winners were given AirPods Pro, WWDC-themed pins and an exclusive jacket.

WWDC 2024

This year WWDC will be held with From 10 to 14 June. As with previous Apple events, WWDC 2024 sessions will be pre-recorded and streamed online, although press and invited developers will have the opportunity to watch the keynote at the in-person event.

Apple is expected to unveil new versions of iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and VisionOS at WWDC 2024. iOS 18 is rumored to introduce significant changes, including a host of AI-powered features and a new way to organize your Home screen. It's unclear whether the company plans to unveil new hardware at the event.
