Apple Loves Services Revenue, So You Should Listen to This Podcast, Report Says

Want to be featured in the App Store? Develop a new feature that uses the latest Apple technology. Looking for a similar popular spot on Apple Podcasts? Consider charging your podcast listeners.

That's at least according to Semafor, which cites several unnamed podcast executives who claim that’ Apple's criteria.

The head of an independent podcast told Semafor this in recent months, when they asked the company how they could advance in the carousel, Apple executives suggested the show participate in the platform's new subscription program. Another podcast executive told Semafor that while the Apple Podcasts subscription didn't bring them much revenue, it was worth participating to benefit from hosting the podcast feed.

If you think about it, the App Store seems , also gives preference to apps with paid subscriptions. This is an official, at least unspoken rule that should not surprise anyone. Apple openly celebrates revenue from its services.

Encouraging podcasters to pay for content on Apple Podcasts (which may have already been paid for using other methods), starting in 2021, has become a great feature for both podcasters and listeners.

The type of podcasts that Apple regularly promotes, usually ships with huge revenue. Apple has paved the way aboard this ship. The challenge for Apple, however, is increasing revenue from directly supporting podcasts. That's because Apple can shoulder some of that cost, but it can't compete for the big budget advertising contracts that support major podcasts.

Like Apple, I'm also interested in generating revenue, so listen to my new podcast (it's free) and support my sponsor (it's worth it). Thank you dear.
