By Julie Clover

As part of changes to the App Store taking effect in Europe, Apple is providing updated insights to all developers worldwide.

More than 50 new reports are available in the ‌App Store‌ Connect API to help developers analyze the performance of their applications. Some of the new metrics:

  • Engagement – Apple is offering more information on the number of users in the ‌App Store‌ who interact with the developer's application or share it with other people.
  • Commerce. Developers can get additional information about downloads, sales and revenue, pre-orders, and transactions made through the In-App Purchase System.
  • App Usage. Apple now provides more information about crashes, active devices, app installations, uninstalls, and more.
  • Using the Framework. Developers can get information about how their app interacts with iOS features such as widgets, CarPlay, and PhotoPicker.

As with current reports, Apple will anonymize the data used in the new report options . Developers will be able to give third parties access to their performance reports.

More information on report details and access will be provided to developers in March.
