Apple hands over the fourth beta version of tvOS 17.5 to developers

Apple today made the fourth beta of the upcoming tvOS 17.5 available for developers to test. The beta version will be released one week after the release of the third beta version.


Registered developers can download update to tvOS 17.5 by selecting the beta version through the Settings app on Apple TV. A registered developer account is required.

tvOS software updates are often small in scope compared to other operating system updates and focus primarily on small improvements rather than external changes. We don't yet know what's included in tvOS 17.5.

Apple shares some information about tvOS releases in its tvOS support document, which is updated after each tvOS launch, but Apple doesn't provide notes during beta testing.

While we don't always know what's new in tvOS betas, we do let MacRumors readers know when new updates are available so developers can download new software upon release.

A Also a beta version of the corresponding HomePod 17.5 software update has been published.
