Apple hands over second beta versions of iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 to developers

Apple today made the second beta versions of the upcoming iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 betas available to developers for testing purposes. The updates will appear two weeks after Apple posted the first beta versions.


Registered Developers can participate in the beta by opening the Settings app, going to Software Update, and tapping Beta. “Updates” and switch to the iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 developer beta. The Apple ID associated with your developer account is required to download and install the beta.

iOS 17.4 makes sweeping changes to how the App Store works and apps in the European Union, paving the way for alternative app markets. , alternative payment systems, support for third-party browser engines and NFC access for banks and third-party payment systems. These features are only available in the EU and will not be available in other countries.

However, changes have been made to gaming apps, and with the release of iOS 17.4, Apple will allow the use of cloud gaming apps. such as Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce NOW. Mini-games, chatbots, and plugins can now also use the in-app purchase system.
