Apple announces Tap to Pay on iPhone is now available in Canada

Apple announced that Tap to Pay on iPhone is available in Canada starting today on select payment platforms in the country.


Tap to Pay on iPhone allows businesses to accept contactless payments on iPhone without the need for additional point-of-sale hardware such as a Square terminal. This feature allows shoppers to pay by simply tapping an iPhone or Apple Watch, a contactless credit or debit card, or another contactless payment option on the merchant's iPhone. Payment is made securely using the same NFC technology as Apple Pay.

Businesses in Canada can offer Tap to Pay on iPhone through iPhone apps offered by Adyen, Moneris, Stripe and Square. Aurus, Chase, Fiserv and Helcim will also offer the feature in the country in the coming months, Apple said.

Apple said Tap to Pay on iPhone will be available in Apple Stores across Canada, and also in Apple Stores. from retailers like Sephora later this year.

Launched in 2022, Tap to Pay on iPhone is also available in the US, Australia, Brazil, France, Japan, the Netherlands, Taiwan, UK and Ukraine. .
