Apple Announces New AI Features Coming to Final Cut Pro for macOS

Apple announced the new iPads at its Let Loose event on Tuesday, but the company also took the opportunity to unveil a larger iPad model. The update will be released in Final Cut Pro for iPad. What the company didn't mention at the event, however, is that the Mac version of Final Cut will also receive an update that will introduce new AI-powered features.

How to detail described on Apple's website, version 10.8 of Final Cut Pro for Mac takes advantage of the Neural Engine on Apple Silicon chips to introduce new artificial intelligence features and organizational tools. This includes options to adjust the light and color in your video with one click.

“Final Cut Pro 10.8 introduces Enhance Light and Color, offering the ability to enhance color, color balance, contrast and brightness in one simple step and is optimized for SDR, HDR, RAW and log-encoded media” says Apple about the update. There's also a new feature that uses artificial intelligence to create smooth slow motion videos.

“With Smooth Slo-Mo, video frames are intelligently generated and blended together for the highest quality images. quality motion and more drama in your project.”

Additionally, Final Cut Pro for macOS will now allow users to give custom names to color grading and video effects to better organize their post-production workflow. It's also easier to find and navigate to clips with missing media.

iPad App gets updates too

For the iPad version, Apple is adding Live Multicam to the app so professionals can capture up to four different angles of a single scene. Another new feature is the ability to use your iPhone as a live camera when editing with Final Cut Pro on iPad.

Upgrades to Final Cut Pro will be available to current users for free later this year, according to Apple. spring. Final Cut Pro for macOS costs $299.99 per license, and the iPad version costs $4.99 per month or $49 per year.
