Swift Apple is working on support for Android application development

Hartley Charlton

Swift Programming Languing from Apple is currently officially expanding to support Android application development by creating a special Android working group as part of the SWIFT project with open source. /> The originally presented Apple in 2014 as a modern programming language for iOS, MacOS, Watchos and Tvos, Swift has expanded since then, turning on official support of Linux and Windows. The SWIFT project this week announced official android support efforts as a target platform, which allowed developers to use SWIFT to create applications for the Google mobile operating system using an official tool and infrastructure. These include ensuring that Swift could be compiled and launched on Android without relying on unofficial forks or modifications downstream, improving the standard SWIFT libraries for better compatibility with API android and the implementation of their own tools and work processes for developers aimed at Android using SWIFT. Created by individual developers. These approaches often required a significant number of user configuration, did not have the full support of the API APIS and introduced the burden of service from compatibility problems with new quick releases.

One of the main initial goals is to finish Android support in the official distribution of SWIFT, eliminating the need for snacks outside the wood or fork supported by the community, including the establishment of appropriate integration of Android tools and achieve consistency with other officially supported platforms. The working group also plans to recommend the improvements of the main libraries of SWIFT, such as Foundation and Dispatch, so they better correspond to the conventions and behavior of the Android platform.
