Aside from the $3,500 starting price, there's one common complaint about the Apple Vision Pro that most customers have. Apple worked with an unlikely partner to provide a solution that the Cupertino firm would sell directly.

An Apple-Approved Comfort Strap
ResMed, a medical solutions company with over three decades of experience in anthropometric accessories, is introducing a new band for the Apple Vision Pro, specifically designed for long-term use.
Apple includes two bands with the Apple Vision Pro: the Solo Knit Band and the Dual Loop Band. While the Solo Knit Band looks neater, Apple has switched to demoing the AVP in stores using the Dual Loop Band to address comfort and fit issues.
However, none of the straps addressed a common complaint from Apple Vision Pro customers. The mixed reality headset can become uncomfortable to wear after extended periods of use. Apple recommends taking regular breaks during use to avoid discomfort. However, something as simple as watching a feature film from start to finish is best experienced without interruption. The same goes for productivity sessions when motivation strikes.
For this reason, Apple has endorsed the ResMed Apple Vision Pro Strap, selling it directly through Apple's retail channels.

Kontor Head Strap from ResMed
ResMed claims that its Kontor Head Strap for the Apple Vision Pro provides a “superior balance of softness and support for long-term wear.”
The company says it achieves this goal by using “a blend of ResMed’s exclusive ultra-premium materials designed to be gentle on the skin and provide further customization of the Apple Vision Pro with the ability to use the six included modular counterweights.”
ResMed is typically known for making medical devices for sleep and respiratory care, including CPAP machines and masks for sleep apnea, as well as ventilators and breathing devices. While ResMed may be an unlikely partner for Apple, the firm may be in a unique position to make the Apple Vision Pro comfortable for customers.
“ResMed’s 35 years of experience in developing headgear and facial interfaces has made it a market leader in creating innovative, effective, and comfortable sleep apnea therapy solutions,” the company said in a statement.

“Building on this experience, the Kontor Head Strap provides Vision Pro users with the benefits of long-term wear. ResMed products are designed to provide exceptional comfort and performance, enhancing the user experience in health and technology”
Before the ResMed Kontor Head Strap, Apple began selling Belkin's proprietary top strap for the Vision Pro's Solo Knit Band for $49.95. The Kontor Head Strap, which is a separate strap and not an add-on, retails for $119.95 in the U.S. The six included additional modular counterweights should alone justify the higher price. Stay tuned for a hands-on review from 9to5Mac in the coming weeks.
