Following the launch of Apple TV+ last month on Amazon Prime Video in the US, the channel is now rolling out to additional regions.
Apple TV+ is now available to subscribe to and watch on Prime Video in the UK, Australia, and Canada. Pricing is the same as if the user subscribed directly through Apple.
By launching TV+ on Prime Video, Apple hopes to increase viewership for its originals by reaching customers who otherwise don’t use the Apple TV app itself.
Subscribing to Apple TV+ through Prime Video as a channel allows users to add TV+ original shows and movies to their queue within Prime Video and watch them directly in the Prime Video app on any device. New accounts are offered a seven-day free trial.
The financial terms between Apple and Amazon have not been publicly disclosed, but Amazon is believed to take a cut of all subscriptions.
In a statement to Deadline, Apple senior vice president Eddy Cue said U.S. customers are already excited about the opportunity:
“Viewers in the U.S. are excited to subscribe to Apple TV+ on Prime Video, and we’re excited to now launch this offering in Australia, Canada, and the U.K.,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services.
Apple TV+ now boasts more than 250 original titles, with the new streaming movie Fly Me to the Moon debuting tomorrow. Learn all about Apple TV+ in our exclusive guide.
