While the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max aren't expected to launch for another 10 months, there are already plenty of rumors circulating about them.

Here are the key changes that have been rumored for the iPhone 17 Pro models so far:
- Aluminum Frame: The iPhone 17 Pro models are rumored to have an aluminum frame, while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro models are rumored to have a titanium frame, and the iPhone X – iPhone 14 Pro models are rumored to have a stainless steel frame. The back of the devices is expected to feature a new “part aluminum, part glass” design.
- Rectangular camera bump: Along the way, the devices are expected to feature a “larger rectangular camera bump” made of aluminum.
- A19 Pro chip: The iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to use Apple’s next-generation A19 Pro chip, which will reportedly be manufactured using TSMC’s new third-generation 3nm process. As usual, expect modest performance gains and power efficiency improvements over current iPhones.
- Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip: At least one iPhone 17 model is rumored to feature an Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip, rather than Broadcom.
- 24-megapixel front-facing camera: All four iPhone 17 models are said to feature an improved 24-megapixel front-facing camera, while all iPhone 16 models feature a 12-megapixel front-facing camera.
- 48-megapixel rear telephoto camera: An improved 48-megapixel telephoto camera is rumored to feature in the iPhone 17 Pro models, up from the 12-megapixel telephoto camera found in the iPhone 16 Pro models.
- 12GB of RAM Memory: Increased 12GB of RAM was initially rumored to be exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but will later be coming to the iPhone 17 Pro as well. This upgrade should help improve Apple Intelligence and multitasking performance. All four iPhone 16 models have 8GB of RAM.
- Smaller Dynamic Island for iPhone 17 Pro Max: A change rumored exclusively for the iPhone 17 Pro Max is a “significantly narrower Dynamic Island” as a result of Apple’s adoption of a “metalens” for the Face ID system.
