Belkin Recalls BoostCharge Pro Power Bank and Charger for Apple Watch Due to Fire Risk

Joe Rossignol

Last month, Belkin voluntarily recalled the BoostCharge Pro Fast Wireless Charger for Apple Watch + Power Bank 10K (model BPD005). The company said it will offer a full refund to all customers who purchased the product.

In its recall notice, Belkin said a manufacturing defect could cause the battery in the charger to overheat, which could pose a fire hazard to consumers.

Belkin advises customers to stop using the product immediately:

If you purchased the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Fast Wireless Charger for Apple Watch + Power Bank 10K Charger, BPD005, it is important to stop using it immediately, unplug it from any power source or other products, and contact us for further instructions. Place the BPD005 in a safe, dry place away from flammable objects or anything that could damage the charger. Do not dispose of your power bank in trash or recycling bins.

More information can be found on the Belkin website.

Belkin released the BoostCharge Pro Fast Wireless Charger for Apple Watch + Power Bank 10K in May 2023. The power bank has a 10,000 mAh battery, a 20W USB-C charging port, and a built-in fast charging puck for Apple Watch Series 7 and later.

Belkin similarly recalled another wireless charger in 2021 due to a fire risk.
