In the latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that the second-generation Apple Vision Pro is expected to hit the market between fall 2025 and spring 2026. That's largely in line with previous reports, though it's a little less optimistic.
As a reminder, supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported last week that Apple has seriously delayed its plans to release a lower-cost Apple Vision headset and will instead focus on the second-generation Apple Vision Pro, which is scheduled to launch next year.
Apple plans to upgrade the Vision Pro 2 from the M2 chip to the upcoming M5 chip, which will provide a significant performance boost. Apple introduced the first generation of the Vision Pro with the then-new M2 chip, but the rapid release of the M3 and M4 chips soon after made the $3,500 spatial computer feel a little dated.
At least this time, the Apple Vision Pro is set to get the M5 around the same time as the first Macs get the M5, so hopefully it won't feel quite as dated.

I got it on day one and still use it every day, and I'm generally happy with it, but it should be lighter.

As of now, the Apple Vision Pro 2 will likely look pretty much the same as the current generation Apple Vision Pro, according to Bloomberg:
Apple is working on several ideas for its Vision line of headsets, but at least one version of the second-generation Vision Pro — if it is released — will look almost entirely like the current design. The main changes are internal, including a processor upgrade.
Apple recently released new Wide and Ultra Wide display options for Mac Virtual Display in visionOS 2.2, which many people, including me, found quite appealing. With Apple scrapping its plans for cheaper hardware, it’s clear that the company will need to focus on compelling software features — like this — to keep the Apple Vision Pro attractive in the market.
