Everything Apple Has Announced This Week
The New Mac mini
On Tuesday, Apple unveiled a completely redesigned Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro chips.
- New design: Significantly smaller than its predecessor, at 5 inches by 5 inches, thanks to a new thermal architecture.
- Ports: Two USB-C ports, a headphone jack, three Thunderbolt ports, an HDMI port, and a Gigabit Ethernet port, but no USB-A connectivity.
- Thunderbolt 5 connectivity: The m4 Pro Mac mini offers Thunderbolt 5 connectivity with data transfer rates of up to 120Gbps.
- Performance options: Available with either the m4 chip or the new m4 Pro chip, offering up to 64GB of RAM and a 14-core processor with 10 performance cores and four efficiency cores.
Starting at $599 with 16GB of memory, the new Mac mini is available for pre-order today and ships November 8.

Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence is now generally available with iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia. Early Apple Intelligence features include Writing Tools, Clean Up in Photos, Notification Summaries, and more.
There are other reasons to upgrade to iOS 18.1 besides Apple Intelligence. The update brings changes to Control Center, call recording support, and more.

USB-C accessories
Along with the new iMac, Apple announced new versions of the Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Mouse that use USB-C for charging.
There are no other changes to these new accessories. And yes, the Magic Mouse still has a USB-C port on the bottom.
