iOS 17.7.1 Coming Soon to iPhone Users Who Haven't Upgraded to iOS 18

Apple is preparing a slew of major software updates next week, including iOS 18.1 with the first Apple Intelligence features. But as it turns out, another iPhone software update is coming soon: iOS 17.7.1.

Next iOS 17 update brings important security fixes

Today, along with RC betas for iOS 18.1, macOS Sequoia 15.1, and more, Apple also unveiled a surprise beta.

iOS 17.7.1, which has never been available as a beta before, has received its own RC beta.

The release notes for the update are short and sweet:

This update contains important security fixes and is recommended for all users.

iOS 17.7 was first released last month alongside iOS 18.

For most users, it was the software update that received a prominent place in the Settings app. iOS 18 was presented as an additional alternative rather than the main recommended option.

Now, for all users who have not yet upgraded to iOS 18 since then, iOS 17.7.1 will bring key security fixes to their iPhone.

We don’t know exactly when iOS 17.7.1 will be released publicly, but we will likely see it next week alongside the debut of iOS 18.1 — likely October 28th.

Are you still using iOS 17.7? What’s holding you back from upgrading? Let us know in the comments.
