Apple unveils new iPhone features including improved caller ID for businesses and brand logos in Mail

Apple today announced an expansion of Apple Business Connect, which allows businesses to submit information about their businesses to Apple for display in Apple Maps, Siri, and more places across the operating system.

With iOS 18.2, the Mail app will be able to show brand logos next to emails from participating businesses. Next year, the Phone app will be able to identify an incoming call from a business with a logo icon and a descriptive name. Improved caller ID and branding will help users distinguish legitimate messages from spam and phishing attempts.

Previously, Apple Business Connect was limited to businesses with physical locations. As part of the changes announced today, the program has expanded to include virtual, online, and service-based businesses.

New Branded Mail features mean iPhone users will see emails from businesses with a distinctive company logo and brand name in the Mail app. Businesses can sign up to participate today, with the feature rolling out later this year as part of iOS 18.2.

For the first time, businesses can also see their own image in the Tap to Pay interface when using iPhone to accept contactless transactions.

As part of an iOS update coming in 2025, Business Caller ID will help iPhone users avoid spam calls and speak to businesses with confidence they are legitimate. Once launched, verified calls from businesses will appear directly on the iPhone Lock screen, with call details including the relevant company name, logo, and department label.

Apple Business Connect is completely free to join. If you're a business interested in offering these rich integrations with Apple platforms, sign up for a free Apple account at businessconnect.apple.com.
