Google Home for iPhone Adds Favorites Widget to Home Screen

Following its launch on Android earlier this year, Google Home now offers widgets that let you quickly control your smart devices from the home screen on iPhone and iPad.

This Favorites widget offers “Quick control of your actions, automations, and devices.” It consists of tappable tiles in small (4), medium (8), and large (9-12) configurations. Each card has an icon, name, and device status. Which devices appear and their order corresponds to the first tab of the Google Home app.

For lights, blinds, and other similar smart items, you can tap a tile to turn them on/off right from the home screen. Other tiles, marked with a chevron in the corner, open a device control page, while thermostats and sensors directly record the temperature.

We're seeing widgets roll out with version 3.24.101 of Google Home for iPhone and iPad. You may need to join the Public Preview program to access them.
