Satechi Introduces Thunderbolt 4 Multi-Display Dock

Satechi today announced the release of its newest Mac accessory, the Thunderbolt 4 Multi-Display Dock. The dock uses software-based DisplayLink technology to connect up to four external monitors to your Mac, and delivers 96W of power and Thunderbolt 4 data transfer speed.


Made from space gray aluminum that fits For Apple devices, the hub supports up to four extended 4K/60Hz displays or one 8K/60Hz display. . Of the four displays, two can be connected via Thunderbolt 4, and two via HDMI. Satechi says the feature is designed to address the single display limitation of the M1, M2 and M3 chips. Models ‌M1‌, ‌M2‌ and M3 MacBook Pro support up to three displays with the Satechi Dock, while the M3 MacBook Air supports four displays in clamshell mode. Machines with Pro and Max chips support up to four displays through the hub.

The hub delivers 96 watts of power to the host computer, which is enough to charge even a 16-inch MacBook Pro. Each of the three Thunderbolt 4 downstream ports also provides 15W of charging power for iPhone, Apple Watch and other accessories, and two ports can be used simultaneously for charging. Thunderbolt 4 ports support data transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps, while two USB-A ports support transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps. A UHS-II SD card reader is also available, capable of transferring data at speeds of up to 312 MB/s.

Satechi says the dock supports daisy-chaining of up to six devices, delivering native PCIe speeds of 32 Gb/s. Supports external GPUs and Thunderbolt-based storage devices.

The Thunderbolt 4 Multi-Display Dock can be purchased from the Satechi website for $300.
