Apple's M5 Folding Display MacBook is expected to have an 18.76-inch screen, similar to the Air's 13-inch screen when folded.

Today, hot on the heels of Ming-Chi Kuo's report on the rumored MacBook with a foldable display in 2026, analyst Ross Young spoke with his own report.

In a post on X for subscribers, Young said that Apple has decided to use a slightly smaller display than originally planned. The foldable MacBook display is now expected to measure 18.76 inches diagonally, compared to the original model's 20.25 inches diagonal.

Screen size for all-display MacBook

In a report from Ming-Chi Kuo today, he stated that Apple is considering abandoning from its original plan of using a roughly 20-inch display instead of the smaller 18.8-inch version.

Ross Young, whose expertise is in displays and thus consistently produces robust display-centric reports, confirmed Kuo's fears; this has already been decided by Apple. The futuristic all-screen MacBook will have an 18.76-inch display (or 18.8 inches if it's rounded).

This will give the new MacBook, according to Kuo's previous report, an overall body more similar to the 13-inch MacBook . inch MacBook Air, while a larger 20-inch display could bring it closer to the 15-inch model.

Opinion 9to5Mac

I'm not excited about the prospect of a full display MacBook, at least as far as Macs exist today. Not only will macOS have to get touch support before this product is rumored to launch in 2026, Apple will also have to provide an attractive replacement for the physical keyboard and trackpad before longtime Mac users will be excited about such a premium product -class.

Can Apple create a full-screen Mac that will make you excited about the product? Is the lack of a physical keyboard and trackpad a dealbreaker? Let us know in the comments.
