New iPad Pro and iPad Air screens are cheaper to replace (if you buy AppleCare)

While the new iPad Pro and iPad Air have bigger and better screens than ever before, they also will be cheaper than ever to replace—as long as you buy AppleCare+. Here is the full information.

According to the AppleCare website (via MacRumors), repairing a broken screen on the M2 iPad Air and M4 iPad Pro will cost just $29. This includes both 11-inch and 13-inch screens. In past years, Apple charged $99 to replace the screen of an iPad Air or iPad Pro with AppleCare+. Without AppleCare+, repair costs range from $449 to $999.

Apple says: “Cracked screen repair fee (front only) is available only on iPad Pro 13-inch (M4), iPad Pro 11-inch (M4), iPad Air 13-.” inches (M2), iPad Air 11 inches (M2) and in the absence of other damage. Other iPad models or damage may result in a different fee.

The new iPad Pro and iPad Air screen replacement prices with AppleCare+ match iPhone screen replacement prices at $29.

AppleCare+ for new iPad Pro and iPad Air models is available with monthly or 2-year plans:

  • 11-inch iPad Pro: $149 US or $7.49 per month.
  • 11-inch iPad Air:$79 or $3.99 per month.
  • 13-inch iPad Pro:$169 or $8.49 per month.
  • 13-inch iPad Air:$99 or 4, $99/month
