Apple releases macOS Sonoma 14.5 with improvements Apple News+

Apple today released macOS Sonoma 14.5, the fifth update to ‌macOS Sonoma‌ operating system released last September. ‌macOS Sonoma‌ 14.5 comes more than two months after the launch of macOS Sonoma 14.4.


The ‌‌‌‌‌‌ The macOS Sonoma‌‌‌‌ 14.5 update can be downloaded for free to all eligible Mac computers using the Software Update section of System Settings. There is also macOS 13.6.7 for those still running macOS Ventura, and macOS 12.7.5 for those running macOS Monterey.

‌macOS Sonoma‌ Version 14.5 adds a new word game for Apple News+ subscribers and lets you track News+ game stats and streaks. Apple Release Notes:

macOS Sonoma 14.5 includes the following improvements and bug fixes:
– Quartiles is a new, original daily word game now available on Apple News+ .
– Scoreboard in News+ Puzzles gives you access to new player data in crosswords, mini-crosswords and quartiles, including statistics and series.

We are approaching the end of ‌macOS Sonoma‌ development cycle, and this could be one of the last feature updates we see. Apple is already working on macOS 15 and plans to unveil it next month at WWDC.
