Report: Five things Apple won't announce at its event next week

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing at least five year-end announcements that won't be revealed at the company's “Let's Lose” special event next week.


In a report detailing his expectations for the upcoming Apple event, Gurman noted that the company expects a total of five things. later this year:

  • Artificial intelligence features. While Apple may be teasing new AI capabilities in the next-generation iPad Pro, Apple won't “officially unveil” the features until WWDC in June, where it will preview iPadOS 18.
  • Entry-level budget iPad
  • strong>: Apple is apparently working on a lower-priced 10th-gen version of the iPad in 2022. The current model costs $449 and sits above the $329 ninth-generation iPad. The company will likely ditch this older model and lower the price of the updated model, but Gurman says that's “not expected before the end of the year.”

  • The seventh-generation iPad mini. An updated iPad mini is reportedly in development with improved performance thanks to a faster processor, but it won't be announced next week.
  • New Macs Although the new ‌iPad Pro&zwnj. ; models may contain the M4 chip, a processor that will later appear in the Mac, Apple has no plans to unveil any new Mac models at the Let's Lose event.
  • Fourth-generation AirPods: It is said that Apple is getting closer to producing fourth-generation AirPods, but they won't be released until the fall along with the iPhone 16 line.

Apple's 'Let's Lose' event Expected to focus on unveiling the updated design ‌ iPad Pro‌ models with OLED displays, two new iPad Air models, a premium Magic Keyboard accessory and a new Apple Pencil. It will take place on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 a.m. PT (10 a.m. ET) and will be livestreamed as usual on Apple.com and YouTube.
