When Apple released iOS 17.3 in January, it introduced an anti-stolen device feature that gives iPhone users added security. This article explains what it does, why you might want to enable it, and how to do it.
. Here's how to enable this feature.</p>
<ol>
<li>Open the Settings app.</li>
<li>Scroll down and tap <strong>Face ID & Password</strong> (or <strong>Tap ID and password</strong>depending on your iPhone model.</li>
<li>Enter your password at the command line.</li>
<li>Scroll down and tap <strong>Anti Stolen Devices</strong> . </li>
<li>Turn on the switch next to <strong>Anti-stolen device protection</strong>, then click <strong>Enable</strong> in the command line.</ol>
<p>Please note: If your iPhone is running iOS 17.4 or later, an additional option on this screen allows you to choose a security delay when your device is <strong>away from familiar places</strong> or <strong>Always </strong>. Otherwise, that's all there is to it. You can just as easily disable this feature by turning off the <strong>Stolen Device Protection</strong> switch, but you will need to be authenticated to do so.</p>
