DuckDuckGo today announced the launch of Privacy Pro, a new subscription service that brings together three privacy-focused features.
Privacy Pro includes VPN for anonymous browsing and secure connections regardless of location, identity removal to remove personal data from data broker sites, and identity theft recovery if any DuckDuckGo subscriber is affected from the individual the situation with theft.
VPN works simultaneously on five devices, so it can be installed and used on Mac, iPhone, iPad and other devices at the same time. It is enabled through the DuckDuckGo browser, so no second app is required, and it filters traffic across all apps and browsers.
DuckDuckGo's Personal Information Removal Tool regularly scans 50 sites that sell information, such as Spokeo. . Personal information is stored on the device, and deletion requests are initiated using information provided during setup. The process is automated and has a dashboard to track results.
Identity theft recovery includes support from a dedicated consultant who will work with users to recover stolen accounts, replace bank cards and other identification documents, financial losses and correct credit reports.
Privacy Pro from DuckDuckGo costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year and is currently only available in the US. To take full advantage of these features, users need to ensure that they are using the latest version of the DuckDuckGo browser.
