Google Pixel 8's flagship AI photo editing feature is coming to iPhone

Google will make its latest artificial intelligence-powered photo editing feature available to all Google Photos users on iOS next month, the company announced.


Magic Editor, which featured prominently in last year's Google Pixel 8 series marketing campaign, uses generative AI to perform complex photo editing tasks, such as filling in gaps in a photo. , changing the position of objects, and further foreground/background adjustments, such as turning an overcast gray sky blue.

Editing mimics the capabilities provided by more professional editing tools like Photoshop, except that the Magic Editor achieves the results automatically. with the help of artificial intelligence, rather than the user having to do it manually.

The editing tool debuted as one of the main AI features on the company's flagship phone when it launched six months ago, and has been a feature ever since exclusive to Google. Pixel 8 owners and Google One subscribers. The tool will be available to all Google Photos users starting May 15.

Google Photos for iOS and Android will include 10 Magic Editor saves per month. To use more, users need to purchase the Premium Google One plan, which starts at 2 TB of storage for $10 per month or $100 per year.
