Apple releases iOS 17.4.1 for iPhone users and more

Apple today officially released iOS 17.4.1 for iPhone users. The update comes two weeks after Apple released iOS 17.4 with major changes in the European Union.

You can update your iPhone to iOS 17.4.1 by going to the Settings app, selecting General, then selecting Software Update ” Today's update build number is 21E236. It's available for any iPhone running iOS 17, including iPhone XR/XS and later.

Apple's release notes for iOS 17.4.1 simply state: “This update provides important bug fixes and security updates . Recommended for all users.”

iOS 17.4 was released on March 5 with a number of new features, including support for alternative app stores in the European Union. The update also included Apple Podcast transcripts, improvements to stolen device and Siri protection, new emoji, and more.

In addition to iOS 17.4.1, Apple released the following updates (all of which contain important bug fixes and security updates) :

  • visionOS 1.1.1
  • iPadOS 17.4.1
