Apple's new iPad Pro models with OLED displays will likely begin shipping to customers in April, according to information provided today by Ross Young, CEO of display research firm Display Supply Chain Consultants.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman also reported in his Power On newsletter that new iPad Pro models could be coming no earlier than “deeper” than April. on Sunday:
I've said repeatedly that the new software for the iPad Pro—the iPadOS 17.4 variant intended for updated models—won't be ready until the end of March or even sometime in April. Once the OS is completed, Apple needs to send it to factories for installation on new hardware. This process could take a couple of weeks and will likely lead us to a deeper look next month.
Young expects Apple to announce new iPad Pro models in “late March or early April,” so the devices could still be unveiled later this month. Gurman also said an announcement could be as early as “late March.”
Yang confirmed that Apple is also planning to release a larger 12.9-inch iPad Air, and it will likely be announced at the same time as the new models iPad Pro.

The following iPad-related announcements are expected in March or April:
- Two new iPad Pro models with M3 chip, OLED displays, thinner body, landscape front camera, updated rear camera bump and other changes design, and possibly MagSafe wireless charging.
- Two new iPad Air models with an M2 chip and a landscape-facing front-facing camera, including the world's first 12.9-inch model

- New Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro with a larger trackpad, partial aluminum body and other design improvements
- New Apple Pencil
Gurman previously excluded Apple event dedicated to the new iPads. Instead, the devices will likely be announced in a press release on the Apple Newsroom website, as was done earlier this month with the 13-inch and 15-inch M3-powered MacBook Air models.
Yang said Samsung will do this. will be the exclusive supplier of OLED displays for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, while Samsung and LG will apparently split orders for the 11.1-inch model.
