iPad Pro with 11-inch OLED display may be in short supply at launch

Apple is expected to announce new 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models with OLED screens this month . A new report from analyst Ross Young suggests that production of the new 11-inch iPad Pro is lagging behind the 12.9-inch.

According to Yang in a post to paid subscribers on social media, OLED screens for the 11-inch iPad Pro are currently manufactured by Samsung Display. . However, sometime this month, LG Display will also begin producing 11-inch OLED screens for the iPad Pro. LG Display also currently produces OLED panels for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

At the same time, Young also notes that production of the 11-inch iPad Pro panels “seems to be lagging” behind the market. 12.9-inch model.

This could mean that when the new line is announced, the new 11-inch iPad Pro will be in short supply, at least compared to the 12.9-inch model. Once LG Display joins production, Apple can work to eliminate this shortage and further increase the availability of the 11-inch iPad Pro.

Most recently, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that the new iPad Pro line would launch sometime “around late March or April.” Gurman also said that Apple plans to release a “special version of iOS 17.4 with support for new hardware” that will be released alongside the new iPads.
