Rumors circulating on Chinese social media suggest that an updated Apple Pencil will be announced this month.
The rumor comes from Weibo user Instant Digital, who notes that after more than five years of no updates, Apple is finally planning to update the second generation Apple Pencil this month. This confirms Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman's recent statement that the new Apple Pencils will arrive “in the next few weeks.”
There is limited information about what the updated Apple Pencil may have, but there have been rumors of magnetically replaceable tips, color sampling capabilities, and a shorter design with a glossy finish.
