Webex today announced the release of a new Webex app designed for Apple TV 4K. The app is designed to allow hybrid workers to join meetings from the largest screen they have, often a TV.
Users can scan the QR code on the sign-in screen and sign in to the Webex app on Apple TV to join the meeting. To participate in the chat, you will need a wireless connection from your iPhone or iPad to Apple TV 4K to use your iOS device as a microphone and video camera.
Apple previously used iPhone/iPad on Apple TV for FaceTime, but this functionality is available for third-party apps as well.
Webex says users can expect “crystal clear audio and video,” and the app offers a preview of video and microphone status before joining to the meeting. Calendar integration is available, and Siri Remote can be used to view meetings and access meeting controls such as the camera on a connected iOS device.
Up to 25 participants can be displayed on one screen at a time. with the Webex app for Apple TV 4K and the app can be downloaded from the App Store to your device. To use Webex on a TV, users must have Apple TV second generation. 4K or later and an iOS device running iOS 17 or iPadOS 17.
