The first new exciting Apple Vision Pro video in months is 5 minutes of old football clips.

2023 MLS Cup Highlights

Apple Vision Pro users have access to four short immersive videos, and almost two months after a fifth appeared in the market in the form of five-minute MLS advertising.

Apple Vision Pro can play 8K 3D video at 180-degree resolution that captures the user's vision. This is called an immersive experience and is a technical achievement.

However, this technical achievement can also become the platform's Achilles heel if its production is slow or difficult. More exciting content is on the way, but Apple Vision Pro owners have noticed that the meager library hasn't grown since its February 2 debut.

Two months later, the first new addition to Apple's immersive video library isn't a new episode of one of its four existing projects. Instead, this is a five-minute video about the MLS Cup, which took place in December 2023.

The MLS Cup video is impressive and illustrates how the future of sports and immersive content will be transformed. But this was already expected — The content created for Apple Vision Pro is simply amazing.

Those who purchased Apple Vision Pro on launch day expected product development to be slow as content and applications were created for the platform. However, no one could have predicted that two months later Apple would have so little content, and there are no signs of increasing it in the near future.

Immersive video of Apple Vision Pro

As mentioned in our monthly review of Apple Vision Pro — Apple needs to evangelize or directly pay for content. Otherwise, there won't be much incentive for content creators to build a platform with fewer than a million users.

The video, which is still available in the Apple Vision Pro TV app, shows several scenes of the exciting upcoming event. But while a five-minute highlight reel takes three months to produce, a full-fledged episodic documentary at this rate can take years.

WWDC 2024 is approaching, and with it VisionOS 2. Most likely, the event will include announcements related to the content library and Apple Vision Pro applications — at least we can hope so.
