MacBook Air Midnight M3 should be less sensitive to fingerprints than before

While the new MacBook Air M3 may look identical to its predecessor, there is one change to the midnight color. Apple says the midnight MacBook Air M3 features a new anodized seal designed to reduce fingerprints, similar to the “space black” MacBook Pro M3.

In today's MacBook Air M3 press release, Apple says:

Featuring a durable aluminum unibody design designed to last, the new MacBook Air is available in four stunning colors: Midnight with a revolutionary anodizing seal to reduce fingerprints; Star Light; space gray; and silver.

The M3 MacBook Pro, announced last October, was the first to receive this new anodizing stamp. At the time, we speculated whether this would come to the midnight MacBook Air at some point in the future, given that the midnight color picks up an absurd amount of fingerprints and

In my five months of using the MacBook Space Black Plus , I noticed that the anodized seal does a great job of removing fingerprints. It's not perfect, but it's much better than the non-anodized midnight finish of the M2 MacBook Air.
