watchOS 10.4 and iOS 17.4 betas introduce a new toggle on Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2. The new setting is designed specifically for Avoid conflict between Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro when using gestures.
Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 work with Apple's new double-tap gesture, which lets you select prominent buttons and open widgets without touching the screen. . Apple Vision Pro, on the other hand, can use the same finger gesture to select content in VisionOS.
So how does this gesture work when you're wearing both a watch and a headset? It's up to you.
An upcoming feature addition will allow you to ignore the double-tap gesture on Apple Watch while you're wearing Vision Pro. This allows Vision Pro to win when performing a selection gesture. If you don't wear Vision Pro? Double tap on Apple Watch works as expected.
It's a good compromise for resolving an annoying conflict between devices. iOS 17.4 and watchOS 10.4 are due out in March. The first public beta of iOS 17.4 was released today.
