Apple TV+ has hinted that it has something planned for early January, encouraging viewers to “see it for themselves.”
On Wednesday, the Apple TV X account posted a cryptic message urging people to “save the date” and “see it for yourself.” The accompanying image, which featured Will Ferrell, also listed the date as January 4-5.

On Thursday, the account posted another teaser urging users to “stay tuned.” The accompanying image again listed the date as January 4-5.
While it’s hard to know what Apple TV+ is planning, the fact that the dates fall on a weekend suggests the company may be preparing to open up Apple TV+ to everyone for a limited time. This would be a new move for the Cupertino tech giant, as Apple has never held an Apple TV+ open weekend before.
Typically, Apple instead offers free previews of certain items, like the holiday classic Peanuts or the first episodes of certain shows it expects to be successful. The company is also offering a seven-day free trial for new subscribers, as well as longer trials with the purchase of qualifying hardware.
The teasers could also indicate that Apple is preparing to announce its lineup of new shows and movies coming to the service in 2025. Last year, Apple announced its 2024 lineup in early February, so the timing couldn't be better.
