Denon adds Siri functionality to its line of smart speakers

You can now use Siri on select Denon Home Series speakers — provided you already have a HomePod at home. Denon, known for its wireless receivers and smart speakers, has quietly introduced a feature that lets you control Siri on some smart speakers. This includes the Denon Home Soundbar 550, which also supports Dolby Atmos.

As with the EcoBee line of smart thermostats, you'll still need to add your HomePod or HomePod mini to your home network. Since Siri is only available on Apple's own devices, Denon speakers only transmit information to Apple speakers.

Compatible models include the Denon Home Series 150, 250, 350 and Soundbar 550. As HomeKitNews notes, all of these speakers support AirPlay 2 integration.

But to add Siri support, you need remove them from your smart home and then add them again. It's also important to note that if you've used Alexa in the past, it will be disabled since only one voice assistant can be active at a time.

Users who want to add Siri integration will need to be running iOS 16.1 or later and HEOS app version 3.1.X or later. Denon provides full instructions on its website here.
