Verizon has released an update to its Home Device Protection Plan that repairs or replaces an unlimited number of devices, including computers, game consoles, devices smart homes, TVs, and now robotic vacuum cleaners, healthcare devices and much more. The service now also includes a second residence, 24/7 technical support, home visits and more.
Verizon released the latest version of the Home Device Protect Plan today costs $25 per month. The plan covers almost every device you have in your home except your smartphone (for which Verizon offers Mobile Protect).
The new list of protected devices includes:
- Desktops and laptops
- Smart watches and fitness trackers
- Gaming systems
- Printers
- Audio headsets
- Smart security cameras
- Smart speakers
- Smart thermostats
- Streaming devices
- Tablets
- TVs
- Healthcare devices
- Pet devices
- Smart floor care devices
Verizon says additional benefits of this service include hassle-free repairs and 24/7 technical support. support, home visits, and coverage upgrades to a second location.
Verizon uses Asurion as its underwriter and depending on the device, a $49 or $99 deductible/service fee may apply to claims .
The new Verizon Home Device Protect feature is available to any Verizon customer with a Fios broadband or high-speed Internet plan, as well as most mobile phone plans.

At $300/year to cover your entire home (or two homes for those with a second residence), the updated Home Device Protect system can be very useful.
This is an interesting alternative to AppleCare on iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, HomePods, etc., especially if you have a lot of them in your household.
Verizon offers a device calculator to help you estimate the cost of your device. home devices you can play with. For me, I have a single home, the $25/month plan protects $8,307 worth of technology.
