Apple today began informing early Apple Card customers that their physical titanium cards will expire this summer and replacements will be shipped in the near future. Clients who have issued Apple Card in August 2019, when Apple Card launched, will receive a notification.
It looks like the physical Apple Card&zwnj ; designed to last for five years before a replacement is shipped. Most of the features of Apple Card is digital, with the ability to change security codes and credit card numbers for online purchases, but there is a number associated with the physical card that is used for in-person transactions. Credit card companies add expiration dates to physical cards to prevent fraud, introduce new technologies, etc.
From Apple email:
We will send a replacement titanium card to your billing address so you can continue to use it in physical locations. Remember, even without a physical card, you can always use your Apple Card anywhere Apple Pay is accepted. Your new Titanium Card will be shipped within 2 weeks of the date of this message.
You can continue to use your Titanium Card until it expires or until a new one is activated. You can still use Apple Card with Apple Pay and your virtual card number to make purchases from merchants that don't yet accept Apple Pay by entering your number from Wallet or using Safari AutoFill.
Replacement The cards will have a prepaid shipping label so customers can send their old Apple Card be recycled. Apple recommends Apple Card customers who receive a new card will activate it upon arrival, as the current card will no longer be valid when it expires.
Customers who have subscribed to Apple Card at some point after his first launch, most likely five years from now he will receive emails. Please note that some customers have received emails within the last month or so, but these may be customers who were able to sign up for Apple Card previously as part of beta testing.
