Some users are randomly locked out of their Apple ID accounts.

iCloud online login page

Overnight, a significant portion of iCloud users logged out of their accounts on all their devices , and the only way to get back was to reset the password.

There were no logouts — or not, it’s not clear yet — occurs on one specific class of devices. And if you're affected, that includes almost all of your devices, including HomePods, Apple TV hardware, iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

One AppleInsider employee said that whatever the cause of the problem, it also affected passwords for specific applications.

As of April 27 at 6:43 am, there is still no sign of a problem on the iCloud status page. It's hard to say if the problem has been resolved since the US East Coast is just waking up and related social media keywords have been hijacked by spammers.

This does not look like an organized hack or attack. nor a massive attempt to inject powers. Users do not report two-factor authentication or similar warnings being triggered.
