Biden's Deputy Press Secretary Leaves White House for Apple

Apple is reportedly hiring the current White House deputy press secretary. Olivia Ahler Dalton is currently deputy assistant to the president and principal deputy press secretary at the White House.

According to Reuters, which first reported With this news, President Joe Biden's longtime aide will take on a senior communications role at Apple.

Dalton is expected to leave the White House in mid-March, sources said. She has been the White House deputy press secretary since August 2022, reporting to Karine Jean-Pierre.

Last week, Dalton told senior Biden staff about her plans to leave for a job at Apple&#8217 The communications team said a source who wished to remain anonymous.

According to LinkedIn, Olivia Ahler Dalton worked with Biden for almost 20 years. Outside of government, Olivia Ahler Dalton previously served as vice president of communications for the Human Rights Campaign.

Apple is no stranger to staffing the company with former government officials. Lisa Jackson, Apple's environmental guru, joined the company after leading the Environmental Protection Agency. Former Vice President Al Gore was also a long-time Apple board member until recently. And a decade ago, Apple was rumored to be eyeing former Obama White House press secretary Jay Carney, although he ultimately took a PR position at Amazon.
