Apple's Project Titan could lead to an Apple car

Self-confessed former Apple engineer guilty of stealing trade secrets related to the Apple Car was finally sentenced to 120 days in jail, three years probation and $146,984 in damages.
In 2018, Xiaolang Zhang stole a 25-page circuit board diagram for a self-driving car. He initially pleaded not guilty but eventually entered into a plea agreement with the US government in 2022.
Agreement Details are unknown, but Zhang's sentence has finally been reached. The court filing was first published by 9to5Mac, which said Zhang was sentenced to 120 days in jail, three years of supervised release and $146,984 in restitution.
Zhang initially faced up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000. Federal prosecutors in California asked for a one-year prison sentence.
He belonged to Apple's not-so-secret Project Titan, which is working on technology that could lead to the creation of the Apple Car. While on vacation, Zhang told Apple he would not be returning to move to China to care for his sick mother and work for XMotors.
Zhang was arrested at San Jose International Airport while trying to board a flight to Beijing.
